NEWS!!! Mr. GARY KARR "The Genius" talks about my funny videos "JOKING WITH A DOUBLEBASS" !!!

Mr. GARY KARR thinks I'm like "LEONARDO da VINCI" !!! Simply "A GENIUS" ... TOO KIND " My Mentore" !!!

My dear, Vito,

Please forgive me but I’ve only just had the time to watch your recent videos and, as you might have expected, I’ve fallen in love with your mother! I enjoyed her abundant enthusiasm and obvious zest for life. How lucky you are to have a mother with such a sunny disposition. Her beautiful eyes tell the whole story. And, of course, I was both impressed and amazed by your guitar playing…yet another one of your many talents! Is there no end to what you can do?

Like DaVinci, you truly are a renaissance man with boundless interests and talents.

Love,

Gary

My dear, Vito,

Thank you for sending me your old video. You certainly are a very passionate musician and I love your expressiveness that you bring to the music. I am so envious of your left hand which looks like a great cellist! It is beautiful to watch. Oh, how I wish that I had the strength in my left hand to do what you do with yours! I have a very weak third finger and I still practice daily to try to strengthen it but to no avail. Thank you for the offer of your Maestro’s orchestrations but I have all that I need. In fact, I have had so many orchestrations to various pieces that I’ve played over the years that I decided to give them all to the International Society of Bassists so that they can make them available to all solo players.

Much love,

Gary

My dear, Vito,

Thank you very much for your unexpected praise of my crazy jazz CD. Your words meant more to me than you can imagine. Thank you for making me so happy. Now I wish I could make you happy after the horrible news about your conservatory :G. Paisiello.” This is not only a tragedy for you but for the entire world because it reflects a prevailing mentality that is destroying all that is really important about this life and about what makes humans special. The paths that human creativity have taken is turning us into automatons that think and create more like robots than human beings. Without the human imagination and without a deep appreciation for beauty we are left without a sense of wonderment. We are left without a soul. It is very disturbing to me that a country like Italy that has given birth to some of the greatest creations of man’s imagination and soul is now abandoning the life-given culture that has enriched the entire world. If Italy is doing this, I despair for the future. With idiots like Berlusconi and Donald Trump and the power they have in brainwashing vast populations I am losing all hope that things will get better. So, we do what we can to make it a better world and a lot of responsibility for this is falling into the hands of private teachers like you. In my mind, you are one of the great unsung heroes of your country and they are lucky to have you in their midst.
So here is a photo that you can enlarge and use for target practice!
Love,
Gary

Dearest Gary,
my God !!! What a great CD !!! Wowoooo !!! It's simply amazing !!! What a powerful and clear sound. Beautiful. The engraving quality is at the highest level and I have already entered all on the first page of my website. Simply The Genius !!! I find you in great shape and even Tyron is a great jazz musician. Tyron manages to sing his doublebass with the pizzicatos powerful and very clean. Great jazz !!! Wowooo !! But already in another your CDs I was able to admire your infinite potential of "jazzer" player. Wowooo !!! thank you for your beautiful letter. The cherish for my whole life. Dora my mom hugs you warmly and hope that you and Harmon can continue to live happy and serene. And I hope you can add thousands of your old and new videos on your personal channel of Youtube. What if I need help I'm just here for you and Harmon. Unfortunately I'm not a happy man. In fact, from January 1 of 2017 the Italian state will close my conservatory "G. Paisiello" which is the oldest in Italy. I will be out of work along with 70 other teachers. In Italy the musical situation is critical. There is no money for classical music. The traditional theaters are closing and it is impossible to live music. The musical quality of Italian orchestras is very low. And there are no places in the few remaining dilapidated and orchestras. Patience !!!
I will survive with private lessons of guitar and piano.

Love & Love !!!!

Vito

p.s.: This "Bass Brothers" CD will be an amazing success !!! SURE of It !!!

Thank you, my dear, Vito, for the information. I sent it to the conductor so, hopefully, it will help the performance!

Thank you for your enthusiastic comment about the Tarantella. Yes, I totally agree with you about the “Italian Tarantella!” Of course, I had in my mind many Napolitano Tarantelli from where I got the inspiration for the Bottesini. So many performances I’ve heard have always been played too fast for capturing the character of the Napolitano  dance. Yes, the technical display of the piece is impressive but I really like the musical character more than the technique! The fact that you liked my interpretation makes me very happy.
Love,
Gary

Dear Gary,

today it's very and very easy to send some very heavvy video files.

First of all go here:

https://www.wetransfer.com/

Ok !!!

Then follow the easy instructions !!!

At the end you will have your personal account.

Use this account to send all your videos to director.

I suggest you not to break the videos.

You can send the "full" videos. I think it's better.

Tell me if you should have problems.

With all my love,

Vito & your New Fun my Mom "Donna Dora" !!!!

p.s.: an interesting technical aspect.

Listen Gary. When you play the "italian Tarantella" the last note of

the "triplet" must be very and veru short. The common mistake is to play it
not short.

It's the main musical aspect of this amazing "Napoli Dance" !!!

p.p.s.: your Tarantella is absolutely the best I have ever listened in all my
humble carreer !!!

BRAVISSIMO !!!!

My dear, Vito,

From the video of the recent recital that I sent you, is it possible to take just two pieces from the video to send to the conductor of my concert in May? I don’t know how to do this! I’m playing with the Victoria Symphony on May 7th the Bottesini Reverie and Tarantella and I thought it would be good to send my performance to the conductor so that she will be prepared for my tempi, ritardandi etc. What do you think of this? Is is possible and if it is how do I do it?

I’ve been enjoying taking photos videos around our house with the very tiny GoPro Hero camera. I still have to learn more about how to use it but it takes time, especially for an ignoramus like me! I cannot wait to try to video  my playing which will happen in a few weeks after I return to my studio in Victoria.

With love,

Gary

My dear, Vito,

Thank you for all the information about YouTube and cameras. I have three Canon cameras in my studio but they’re already five years old and the new technology is much better. I’m looking into the Hero4 Silver/Music and comparing it to what I now have. Now, with your encouragement I am getting really excited about spending time daily in my studio making videos. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and inspiration. I’m now obsessed with the ideas you gave me!

Love,

Gary
